I got this headboard on Craigslist for $15! I painted it green and stenciled some designs in purple.

Tiny bubbles!

When I saw this bamboo curtain at Ikea, I knew I *had* to have it in G’s room — with a little paint, it looks like a ton of tiny bubbles!

This was actually a bit of a tough project! Spray paint did not work. We had to hang the curtain in the garage and use two rollers and paint the front and back at the same time!

I found this great fish sculpture at Home Goods on clearance for $16. It was metal and kind of rusty, but I had high hopes for it in G’s room.

Personalized Toy Box

I finished my first DIY project today! I got this toy box for free. The sellers left it with the house. It was pretty banged up, but I loved the size and shape. It was beautifully hand painted, but not my (or G’s) style. I sanded it, painted it green, and added her initial and two star fish (to go with her non-under the sea room). This will go at the foot of her bed. I’ll post pics when the room is complete! Yeah, project number one: done!

Leftover paint from another project: Free
Letter: $2
Star fish: $3
Toy box: free!
